The Iron Block building is listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture published by the University of Florida Press. Built in 1896 in the cast iron style of architecture and features pressed metal facades on 4 sides. It was originally on the corner of Main Street and Manatee Avenue and was moved to it's present location in the 1920's. It has been called one of the best examples of pressed iron metal work in the state of Florida. Originally it was "Reed's Cash Store" today it houses law offices and others involved with the courthouse across the street. The second building is 536 12th and is currently Council's, owned by the same family for 90 years, it's been in this location since 1940 when this building was built. The businesses are not included.
