Called the "Crossroads of America" because the north/south and east/west railroads intersect in downtown. The Downtown offers a great collection of historic buildings and fantastic architecture. Seymour has one of the greatest Oktoberfest in the state. John Mellencamp sang about this "small town" and has recently supported the efforts of a new art gallery. The City is working on improvements for the westward entrance into the city with signage, landscaping, beautification and many other improvements all the way in to Downtown. Work has begun and this center is in the thick of it.
