However that land is currently governed by special ordinance 10,200, in which the City Council in 2011 approved the Kenner Elderly Village, (assisted/independent senior living facility). Previous to that, in 2004 the council approved the site for a skilled nursing home. Neither were built; however, the subject parcel is governed by a special ordinance, any other use for that site would require council approval.
