An approximate 5,000 SF wood frame, 20’, single story clear-span (without posts) structure with a stucco front built a few feet above grade. The floor appears to be asphalt covered with wooden parquet type flooring. The side walls have casement windows with transoms and the ceiling has skylights. The 100 year old building was designed and used a neighborhood gym facility up until a few years ago and was known as the “Wiltz Gym”.

The building is current in need of some repair to the skylights and flooring that were damaged as a result of Katrina. The gutters need replacing but the roof itself appears from the ground to be in reasonably good condition. The structure seems to be in sound condition except for some limited termite damage. General repair and restoration is needed due to age and years of deferred maintenance. The interior ceiling is falling and should be removed to provide a completely open space.

The building sits to the front, right side of the site providing a side yard area on the left and a large rear yard. Previously there was an auxiliary building to the left rear of the primary building that was removed, and a swimming pool in the rear yard that was recently back filled with soil.
