This is a historic site with the original building believed to have been built in 1838 and rebuilt within the original walls following a fire in 1868. It was constructed for James H. Cane and William Smith Bennett, pioneer settlers in Shreveport. The annexed building to the left was built in 1852 by Mary Cane who was the widow of both men. It is currently being operated as a bar and grille known as "The Hangar" featuring comedy nights, live bands and karaoke. The Hangar was featured in the 2006 movie "The Guardian" starring Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher and Sela Ward.
