The current owner purchased a parcel from Walmart intended to develop on the corner of Gandy Blvd and Brighton Bay Blvd, this parcel was owned by Walmart and was part of that purchase. The parcel on Gandy contained approximately 4.4 Acres of wetland, much of which was a tidal pond.
The community behind the Gandy Parcel located on Brighton Bay Blvd. was successful in blocking Walmart's attempt to get a site plan approved, and eventually, Walmart put the Gandy Parcel up for sale.
