ARS maintains key contracts with the DOE,DOD and State of LA. That require a fixed based location to perform analytical services. An example of these contracts is a 150 million contract from LANL for the performance of analytical services. As well as a 1 million dollar contract for the performance of all the State of LA analytical work. ARS is tied into this facility because of its design and licensing. ARS maintains three radiological licenses one of which is specifically tied to the facility. It is one of the highest rad licenses in the country and is not available in this or any other state at this time. (we have the last license of its type)- so unless they decide to just get out of the business they can’t move. They have no place to go. For the company to move they would have to have another laboratory for us to move too and a license. There are currently only 6 other radiological labs in the country so one would have to be specially designed and built which is cost prohibitive . A significant amount of the laboratory equipment is lease hold improvements such as ventilation systems etc. The tenant does not own it MJD does and is part of the building. This further prevents them from moving. The other analytical equipment is either fixed or extremely heavy and would cost a fair sum to move. TAC themselves is a 150 million dollar company. ARS also is a key provider to the oil and gas industry and could not move or jeopardize existing services contracts.
