The service station was closed in 1978 with the underground storage tank removed in 1981. In January 1998, Kerr McGee released an environmental assessment report titled "Relinquishment Site Assessment Report" that documents the soil and ground water sampling that was finally completed. We don't have a copy of the report but our file did contain a couple figures from the report showing sample locations and limited analytical results. The State's review of the report resulted in a Sept. 1998 letter that noted no further action was needed and their basis for making that determination. However, the dispenser lines may not have been removed and it appears they were not assessed as part of this Relinquishment report. The service bay in the building was also not assessed as part of this report, but this location may not have had a service bay anyway.
